This field has been affected by the critical financial situation worldwide, but slowly came alive after suffering critical impasse. The magazine known throughout “Zona Centro” conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Carlos Amador and Associates.

Since the beginning of Discover Real Estate, How was the performance of the company in this market?

CAT. Since Discover Real Estate began operating in 2000, we have blamed on satisfying our customers with outstanding service in Real Estate.

Our performance, from the beginning, was based on a corporate vision of excellence and professionalism under a policy upholding the highest standard of ethics, transparency and accountability in our operations.

At Discover we take pride in our Associates for their quality of work, the effort put in to the pursuit of professional excellence and the relationships they make with our customers have been the driving force leading to our success as the top real estate firm in Nicaragua.

Tell us about your work from the perspective of tourism development.

CAT. Nicaragua has become one of the favorite destinations for tourists who choose to invest or stay and live in our country. Some are attracted by our culture and others are greatly attracted by the low cost of living. Above all, the security aspect of the country is a plus and the natural beauty it’s amazing for the biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Discover Real Estate has had extensive experience with attention to tourists, since many of them contact us to make investments in the country in the real estate industry.

The clients who have requested our services, we provide quality care. We offer all the options available in the market: beach properties, close to lakes, islands, etc. In addition to satisfy the needs of the clients we have enabled surveying services, construction and architectural design, all to suit their need.

Our staff is highly qualified, we have counselors who speak several languages and ensure that there are no language barriers. In order to offer a better service to the tourist industries, we opened branches in Granada, San Juan del Sur, Ometepe and León.

How has it affected the property sector financial scenario of the current international crisis?

CAT. In infrastructure, in the last 10 years the housing and tourism development were stronger, and with the international financial crisis the real estate industry in Nicaragua was severely weakened.

The amounts of investment by buyers and investors at all levels in the real estate industry were reduced, especially in large, extended properties for development of tourist and industrial projects. A consequence of the crisis all sales in real estate and construction decreased by more than 60 percent.

But earlier this year we have experienced an upward trend in activity with the market. Nowadays, our group believes in our country and we are confident the crisis will stabilize soon, so we have not stopped our investments.

The first vote of confidence that Nicaragua need is from its own children. That’s why by investing and developing successful projects we show to the world that our country is profitable.
